Obedience

General information

The obedience and protection work takes place on the big grass field at the Jahn Stadium Rheine. The walking direction is from the right to the left seen from the grandstand. It will be performed according to the IPO running scheme. The dog handler can wear light sportive clothing – but it is a MUST to wear the catalogue-no. as starting-no.

Security check at the handlers’ entrance

About 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time of the team.  The team leader has to report at the security check point (handler’s entrance) that the team is ready to start. Then the collar which the dog wears will be checked. In case a handler is not present at least 15 minutes before the start, he will be disqualified. The identity-control will be done after each part of the event. For Obedience it will be at the handler’s exit.

Jumping devices / dumbells / pistols

The jumping devices will be provided according to the currently valid IPO regulation. The A-frame (WT-Metall) is covered with wooden strips and an anti - slip surface. The jumping obstacles will be removed from the performance ground during the protection work, their positioning will be marked. The weight and size of the dumbells are according to the IPO rules. All retrieve exercises have to be done in the running direction. The organizer has to keep in stock 2 crash-pistols (6 mm) and the gun test takes place on the first straight.

Place for the long down under distraction

Males and females will be laid down on separate places. The places provided for down will be marked accordingly by different signs for male ® and female (H) and an additional judge only for the long down will control this exercise.
